Collar rot Disease on Capsicum Plants
In adverse climatic conditions the collar of the plants will get infected with the pathogens, most probably by fungi. Foliar disease causing fungi can cause the collar rot disease and may also cause rottening of the roots. High moisture in the soil at early and later growth stages of the plants and nutrient deficiencies are prime reasons for the susceptibility of the plants for collar rot infections.
Fungicide treatment may control the disease and further spread may be managed. Smearing the fungicide mixture, dusting at high moisture times, drenching the stem collar of infected and non - infected plants may control the disease. Seed treatment before sowing with the fungicide mixture may also help in managing the collar rot disease.
• Drenching or spray can be provided with little more quantity so that if any infections on the surface of the soil and in the soil at root zone will be killed.
• Regulation of irrigation or moisture during treatment must be taken care, dry conditions are recommended.
